God Who Sees Ministries

A Ministry Born from the Heart of God

God Who Sees Ministries exists to bring freedom and hope to women trapped in the sex trade — to see them rescued, redeemed, and restored through the transforming love of Jesus Christ.

Josh and Concilia, founders of God Who Sees Ministries, have dedicated their lives to following God’s call—wherever it leads. Their journey together began in Zambia, Africa, where Josh was serving as a missionary and Concilia was working with a Christian ministry. United by faith and a shared passion for reaching the lost, they began their marriage serving with Overland Missions, living in a tent along the Zambezi River and sharing the Gospel with unreached people groups deep in the African bush.

It was during this season that God began stirring their hearts for a new mission. After watching the documentary Nefarious, which exposes the global tragedy of sex trafficking, Josh and Concilia felt a powerful conviction to act. This calling led them to Southeast Asia, where they spent five years serving with ministries focused on rescuing and restoring trafficked women and girls. They eventually were brought back to the United States, where God revealed the same darkness existed much closer to home. Out of this revelation, God Who Sees Ministries was born—founded in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with one purpose: to bring the light of Jesus into the darkest places and help set daughters free.

GWS - The Beginning

The vision for God Who Sees Ministries began thousands of miles away, in the red-light districts of Southeast Asia. Founders Josh and Concilia spent five years overseas, reaching out to trafficked girls — building trust, sharing the Gospel, and witnessing God’s power to heal broken lives.

During a return visit to the U.S. for the birth of their second child, God stirred something new in their hearts. As they traveled through cities like Houston, Flint, and Detroit, they saw the same pain and exploitation happening right here in America — and felt a divine calling:  “It’s time to go home. The mission is here.”

Eight months later, after completing their season in Asia, they returned to the U.S. and launched God Who Sees Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan — a ministry dedicated to reaching girls trapped in trafficking right here at home.

With two daughters of their own, Josh and Concilia’s hearts broke for the young girls being exploited in their own state — and they resolved to do whatever it takes to reach God’s daughters in bondage.

What Makes Us Different

While many organizations focus on prevention or aftercare God Who Sees Ministries is 100% outreach focused.
We go directly to the girls — into the clubs, into the streets, into the place’s others won’t go — carrying gifts, prayers, and the message that they are seen by God.

We are currently one of the only ministries in Michigan doing direct outreach to women in strip clubs and trafficking situations. By focusing solely on outreach, we’re able to give our full attention and care to the most critical part of the rescue process — building trust and offering a way out when they’re ready.

How We Help

Through regular outreach, we remind each girl that she is seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

As trust grows, we connect her to safe housing, counseling, education, and job training through our network of partners.
When she says “yes” to freedom, we help her take that step immediately — connecting her with the resources she needs to begin a new life.

Our partnerships with local churches, safe houses, rehab programs, and mental health ministries allow us to walk with each survivor from darkness into hope — one heart at a time.

Stories of Redemption

One of the many lives touched by this ministry is Julie.

Josh and Concilia met her while serving in Southeast Asia. Through consistent love and presence — even worshipping with her inside a brothel — Julie came to know Jesus.

She left the sex trade, graduated high school, and went on to college. Today, she’s baptized, walking with the Lord, and helping others find freedom — a living testimony of God’s power to redeem what was lost.

Join the Mission

The need is overwhelming — but God’s love is greater.  The average age of girls trafficked is just 11 to 14 years old, and fewer than 1% ever escape.  That’s why we need people like you to stand with us.

You can make an eternal impact through:

1. Prayer — covering our team and the girls we reach

2. Giving — providing the resources and gifts that open hearts

3. Partnership — joining us in outreach or through your church (Vetting Process)

“Get before the God of Heaven in prayer and ask Him how you are to be involved — through prayer, giving, or going.”
